The Regional Operations Officer is responsible for overseeing the daily operational activities of branches by providing knowledge, coaching, and leadership to Branch Managers. The Regional Operations Officer will ensure and maintain branch consistency and application of all credit union internal and external controls and policies. This position is responsible for effective member service at branches as well as resolving complex member issues. This position reports to the Chief Operations Officer.  

 

1.   PRINCIPAL ACCOUTABILITIES/ESSENTIONAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Provides guidance, leadership and coaching to branch managers lending support and training to new branch managers on day-to-day operations
  • Direct Responsibility for branch manager reviews, performance & knowledge base  in prescribed area/territory
  • Attends and actively engages in monthly Branch Manager Meetings
  • Ensures the security and safety of each branch  
  • Contributes to the credit union's long and short-term strategic plans aligning with the credit union's operational objectives and goals
  • Collaborates with department head's to ensure consistency in credit union policies and procedures
  • Assists Branch Managers in resolving complex member issues while maintaining the highest level ethics and professionalism
  • Assists Branch Managers with branch audits, facilities, equipment and programs
  • Assists in the development and implementation of procedural training for branch employees
  • Recommends and maintains accurate staffing levels to balance member service needs and operational expenses
  • Assists in the development and application of new or updated operational policies and procedures ensuring compliance with governmental rules and regulations
  • Ensures operational policies/procedures reflect applicable regulations and are communicated to Branch Managers to improve and maintain consistency
  • Coordinates Saturday rotation schedule
  • Assists VP of Sales in the timely completion of performance reviews utilizing the online performance management system
  • Provides backup support in the absence of Branch Managers to ensure adequate coverage, efficient service and smooth branch operations
  • Makes recommendations for floater development
  • Collaborates with VP of Sales on Disaster Recovery communication and coverage
  • Assists Branch Managers with accuracy & consistency for compliance audits

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted
  • Seven to ten years of experience within a financial institution or related field
  • Four years of previous management experience/supervisory experience in a financial institution or related field

 

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  • Advanced knowledge of regulations within the credit union industry
  • Proficiency using computers and software including Symitar, Microsoft Word, and ability to learn new software programs
  • Proven problem solving and decision-making skills in order to assist staff and members with various requests and inquires
  • Possess strong interpersonal skills and strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to handle multiple competing tasks and demands
  • Proven written and oral communication skills to effectively communicate in the English language
  • Ability to calculate figures, interest rates and percentages; ability to enter        numerical data on computer with speed and accuracy; ability to balance drawer
  • Pleasant manner in dealing with credit union members and visitors
  • Proficient in all in-house platforms and certifications
  • Current on all required in-house training courses
